I replaced the old flaking, drafty leaky aluminium windows with new Vantage double glazed windows and the difference it has made to the warmth inside my house is amazing.

Portland Aluminium and Glass measured and quoted promptly, I went to the showroom where I could get advice and choose and see exactly the windows I would get, which gave me a lot of confidence to go ahead with this investment.

I am fairly thorough with my research and found PAG to be very competitive with their pricing. But more importantly the service and product quality was there too.

They booked the job in, turned up when they said they would and the installation guys were quick and did a great job cleaning up after themselves.

I am really happy with my investment into this property because not only has it solved my winter heating and summer cooling issues these new windows have totally updated the look of the 30 year old property and given it a complete new lease of life!

I think it was great investment and I am very happy that I could support local people by shopping local.

To New Home Builders and Renovators

We recently completed additions and renovations to our home. It’s no secret that building is an expensive business and keeping within budget almost impossible, and so it is imperative to minimise costs wherever you can. But the trick is not to confuse price with value. For instance, we got quotes for our windows and doors locally, but also from a supplier in Geelong who was highly recommended and indeed, was the cheapest.

By far the most detailed quote we received was from Gavin and Doreen at PAG. Not only did it help us understand that not all windows and fittings are the same, it gave us a reference which we used to quiz other suppliers.

Only then did we discover that not only were the cheaper windows they quoted not as robust and resiliant, they actually weren’t, in some cases, compliant.

Because Portland Aluminium and Glass are locals, they understand local conditions, and so build windows to suit. And they build them right here in town, which means their lead times are accurate and you can plan accordingly. And once ours were installed it was no trouble to get Gav back to make some minor adjustments to locks etc.

And the end result? Beautiful windows with clean lines that cocoon us in on cold days and open to bring outside in on those bright sunny classics that we all appreciate. Our windows are a highlight of our home and we are so very happy that we went with PAG.

And we have no hesitation in recommending that you should too.

Marg and I decided to use the local company Portland Aluminium & Glass (PAG) to change out all our old timber windows and doors after visiting PAG’s extensive showroom. With energy costs in mind, PAG replaced all our windows with Double Glazed windows with an Ultraviolet reducing Tint. When i decided to replace the windows in my 60’s built home, the team at PAG were there by my side. The moment I walked into their Portland showroom, I was provided with amazing customer service and product knowledge by both Sabrina and Doreen.  They walked me through the possibilities, as I was just overwhelmed with the options available.

Being a single person, and in the middle of renovations my budget was tight, and my wish list was getting longer.  Instead of stretching my budget, i decided to replace the windows in 2 stages, front and back.

On installation I instantly noticed a difference; the house was warmer and no more drafts or rattles.

Joan and I commenced planning our renovations in 2007 at our property in Port Fairy. The site has excellent beach views overlooking the ocean.
Given the location has very high exposure to the elements and especially the salty environment and high winds, we considered aluminium windows were the most appropriate system to use.

Our objective was to maximise our outlook and provide integrated indoor-outdoor living space. The house plan incorporated these requirements providing lots of light and wide sliding door access to the outdoor areas.

After considerable research, we decided the Vantage window system was the right system for our needs with custom made windows providing different options and flexibility with our final design.

Portland Aluminium and Glass run by Gavin and Doreen Symes was particularly helpful and supportive as we learned about the Vantage System. We had no idea there was so much to understand about window technology but the Symes were patient and instructive as we learned what was the best glass, frame design and styles for our particular needs and budget. We visited the showrooms several times over several months as we got our minds around the science of window technology. We chose the Vantage system for the local customer service provided by Portland Aluminium and Glass and what we considered was the most appropriate framing system for our specific needs.

As the windows were installed and fitted, we had great cooperation from Gavin and the team and we have also been extremely happy with follow-up service and support from Portland Aluminium and Glass.
We have now lived in the house for 16 months and have found the windows and doors to suit our needs perfectly as well as adding to the look and useability of our house.

We endorse the Vantage Windows systems and the service and support from Portland Aluminium and Glass has been faultless.

Portland Aluminium & Glass have installed aluminium double glazed windows into Graham and Helen Creasey’s home in Portland.

Some of the comments made by them on the performance of the windows are that they have noticed that the road noise has been reduced, they are using their heater less and did not need to use their cooler when hot till later in the day.

The biggest stand out was that their drapes do not move any more from the draft, the new windows have stopped the air filtration.

Overall the Creasy’s are more than happy with the comfort, aestheticsand performance of their windows.

The first thing we noticed when we walked into Warrnambool Windows Systems was one thing, quality. As owner builders at Grassmere, we were looking to build a thermally efficient house, and after getting a number of quotes it soon became apparent that Double Glazing didn’t mean double the price. We were able to have a long conversation with Gavin and Doreen, who took the time to supply us with the added insulation properties of double glazing, over basic windows, which turns out to be a massive 57% heating and 40% cooling benefit; it was an easy decision to make. With rising energy costs, the extra 30% initial outlay we spent on quality windows, will easily be recouped over a short period of time.

Also, as budget conscious owner builders, we only used trades and suppliers who we felt we could trust. After talking with Gavin and Doreen they went straight to the top of our list. And. It wouldn’t be often the owner of a business actually delivers, and helps you unload their products on site, and on time. We are extremely satisfied with the service and product we received from Warrnambool Window Systems.
